As a registered NGO in the Maldives, funding and financial support is critical to the operations of the Maldives Computer Society. Funds are raised though:
- Member contributions
- Charitable donations
- Maldivian Government and International grants, loans and assistance
- Sponsorship and advertising
- Sale of products and services developed by members of MCS
MIRA Approved Charitable Organization
MCS has been granted “Approved Charitable Organization” status by the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA). Hence, any support given to MCS is a recoverable contribution to tax paying businesses or entities.
When filing your annual tax returns, you can include the details about your contribution to MCS to claim your tax deduction. This is verified against a report submitted by MCS to MIRA before your claimed deductions are credited to your business or entity.
