About the Maldives Computer Society

The Maldives Computer Society (MCS) is a professional body and learned society representing the Information & Communications Technology sector in the Maldives, contributing to the development of the ICT sector by assisting the Government & private entities and our members.

MCS is a registered “Not For Profit” organization in the Maldives and was founded on 22 January 2017.

Our Mission & Objectives

Our mission is to:

“Contribute to the development of the Information and Communications Technology sector in the Maldives”.

Our Objectives:

MCS shall be the professional association for Maldives’s Information and Communication Technology sector.
MCS shall support and coordinate with local public and private entities as well as international bodies to develop and promote the ICT sector of Maldives.
MCS shall aim to support its members to achieve professional development.
MCS shall aim to streamline the ICT sector of Maldives, by providing industry standard guidelines and uniform protocols for the implementation of various tasks and projects in the ICT sector of Maldives.
MCS shall assist the Maldivian Government, Civil Service, Public & Private Sector entities by:
- Providing consultancy, advice and assisting in the recruitment and assessment of local and international ICT professionals for placement in the Maldives ICT sector.
- Providing consultancy and advice on ICT related academic and professional courses and other educational programs conducted in the Maldives.
MCS shall aim to develop new software and service applications for the use in Maldives as well as evaluate existing software and services, with the support of its members and affiliates.
MCS shall establish a mechanism for fostering innovation and development by acknowledging contributions of service and excellence to the ICT sector of the Maldives.

Executive Council of the Maldives Computer Society

The Executive Council is responsible for the day to day running and direction of the MCS. The Council Members are elected for a four year term and is led by the President of MCS as directed by its founders.
